Resonance Projects Presents An Evening With Otomo Yoshihide.

Sound Mapping Montréal

Concordia University's Electroacoustic Studies Student Association (CESSA) has recently launched a website in an attempt to initiate the ongoing sonic mapping of Montréal. Unprocessed sound files can be uploaded to the site by the public, and then organised into a browsable tagging system according to date, location, equipment, sound sources, and several other aspects.

New York City's Roulette have recently released their television series about new music onto DVD format. This years episodes feature interviews and performances with Marilyn Crispell, Andrew Cyrille, Oliver Lake, Lois V Vierk, Joan La Barbara, Blue Gene Tyranny, Kathleen Supove, Phoebe Legere, Margaret Leng Tan, and David Behrman. For the aspiring contemporary musician: London's City Lit are running two courses beginning January 2009: 'New Music - Composition and Performance' will be taught by Phil Wachsmann, violinist and improviser, 16 January to 20 March. The second course 'An introduction to Max/MSP' will run from 15 January through 20 March. Yes Snow Show: Michael Snow At The BFI

Canadian avant garde artist, experimental film maker and musician Michael Snow will be exhibiting several of his works at the BFI Southbank Gallery in London from 5 December until February 2009. The programme will include a survey of his film works from the 60s until now, presented in the BFI's gallery space. Alongside the exhibition will be a series of film screenings, including his seminal 1967 film "Wavelength"
Sound:Space Sound Art Symposium

On Saturday 1 November the second Sound:space symposium on sound art will take place in South Hill Park, Bracknell, UK. Speakers this year are Jana Winderen, Ray Lee, with Mike Harding of Touch moderating a panel discussion with Tony Myatt, Peter Cusack and Jana Winderen. Along with the talks, a variety of sound works will be installed throughout South Hill Park Mansion including a surround sound piece by Chris Watson and a closing performance by Peter Cusack and Max Eastley inside Eastley's installation.
MiniFlux: Hayley Newman At Alt. Gallery

Multimedia artist Hayley Newman will be opening her exhibition "Miniflux" at Newcastle Upon Tyne's Alt. Gallery on November 10 at 7pm. The show will contain approximately 1000 miniature reproductions of props used in Fluxus performances, all made from Plasticine and indexed. The exhibition runs until 24 January 2009.

FSOL At BLOC 2009

Future Sound Of London are to be one of the headlining acts at next year's BLOC weekend (13 to 15 March 2009) in their first live show in ten years. This follows news of the imminent release A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble Exploding In Your Mind a mix album under the moniker Amorphous Androgynous. Other headliners at the weekend include Jamie Lidell and the Super Ape himself, Lee Scratch Perry.
